October Events in Central California

October starts tomorrow in the Central California region, which means a whole new month of events and activities around the area. To keep you updated on all that this great region has to offer, as your Central California real estate agent, I’ve put together a list of events to mark in your calendar. Expect more later this month, but here’s a list to get you started!

  • Start the month off right by attending the Salute to Scarecrows! Coastal Celebration on Oct. 1 in Cambria. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., you get to enjoy seven mini-food courses from local restaurants, local wine pairings, live music, a silent auction and the announcement of the prize-winning scarecrows! Tickets cost $25.
  • Oct. 1 through Oct. 4, head to Carmel for Taste of Carmel! This is a celebration of bohemian culture in Carmel-by-the-Sea, which includes a weekend of live music, outdoor activities, culinary education, a silent auction and more. Wine Tasting Passports cost $65, which includes a Wine Walk flight and your choice of nine of 14 tasting rooms. For $95, you can sample local cuisine from area restaurants, paired with local wines, dancing and live music. Check out all the events, there are many!
  • On Oct. 3, celebrate October at Oktoberfest in Monterey Bay! This takes place from noon to 10 p.m. on the 3rd, and then Family Day takes place on the 4th from noon to 6 p.m. Enjoy delicious food and beers, Dachshund Races, Ms. Oktoberfest and Ms. Oktoberfest Jr. contests, jump houses, live entertainment and so on. Entrance fee is $20 on Saturday and $15 on Sunday, or $30 for both days.
  • Also on Oct. 3 is the Butterfly Parade and Bazaar in Pacific Grove! The Monarch Butterfly returns to Pacific Grove, and the area celebrates. Local children dress up as different animals for the Butterfly Parade, which begins at 10:30 a.m. The bazaar takes place afterward behind the Robert Down School.
  • On Oct. 9, bring the whole family to Avila Beach for a Movie Night at the Beach! Cost is $5 per person. Bring a blanket or chairs to enjoy the movie Finding Nemo on the projector. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the movie starts at 7 p.m. Enjoy the sound of waves and the sight of stars while you enjoy the heartwarming story of Nemo and all of his ocean friends!
  • Pioneer Day is Oct. 10 in Paso Robles! It begins with a parade at 10 a.m. down Spring Street. This year’s theme is “The Great Depression of 1931, 85 years later.” Enjoy viewing antique tractors, horse-drawn wagons, marching bands, equestrian groups, dancers, floats and so much more! It’s free to attend. You can enjoy other activities throughout the day as well, including classic car judging, a children’s pet show, a little cowboy/cowgirl contest, a horseshoe pitching contest, wagon and tractor displays, a barn dance and more.

Enjoy the first half of the month with these Central California events. When ready to buy a Central California home, or when ready to sell your Central California home, contact me. As your Central California real estate agent, I am always here and willing to help!
