SLO County Attractions in the News

As your SLO County real estate agent, I like to keep you updated when local Central Coast cities make national news! It happens more often than you might think, thanks to our quaint attractions, beautiful lakes and beaches, and nationally-acclaimed wine. Today alone, I have three examples of the Central Coast region making the news! Check out the examples below.

The 5 Best Family-Friendly Wineries in the U.S.

When Conde Nast Traveler shared their top picks for family-friendly wineries in the U.S., guess who made the list? Castoro Cellars! The article mentioned how they are completely solar-powered, they have cornhole available for anyone of any age to play on the lawn, and they have a giant wooden Jenga stack made out of two-by-four planks. There is also an 18-hole golf course, and coloring books and crayons upon request.

While you taste some of the 16 grape varietals that Castoro Cellars offers, your kids can enjoy a fresh grape juice blend. They said the grape juice is actually one of the more difficult things that they do, but it’s worth it to them to see kids having a good time at the vineyard, too!

30 Things You Have To Do In Northern California Before You Die (Or Move)

Thrillist made this list, and while the Central Coast region isn’t typically referred to as Northern California, both SLO County and Monterey County attractions made this list. For SLO County, the article recommends getting a drink at Madonna Inn, with its uniquely decorated dining room, and for men, a waterfall urinal that’s activated when someone stands in front of it. If you stay overnight, they have 110 themed rooms to choose from!

Other Central Coast attractions that were mentioned in the list include the Monterey Bay Aquarium, hiking to the most dramatic waterfall in California, McWay Falls in Big Sur, and viewing the elephant seals along the coast.

Top 10 California Road Trip Destinations

Her Campus shared a list of the top 10 California road trip destinations that everyone should make at least once in their life. San Luis Obispo and Cambria were mentioned as one. They recommend visiting the SLO Farmer’s Market on Thursday evening, and then shop, eat dinner and explore Downtown SLO. The following day, hike to Bishop Peak, walk down Bubblegum Alley, stop in Cambria and eat at Linn’s Restaurant, and visit Hearst Castle if you have time.

Big Sur and Monterey were also mentioned on the list, for having gorgeous coastal views and lots of popular attractions and landmarks.

As you can see, the Central Coast region makes it onto a lot of lists of places to go and see, and things to do, eat and drink. If you’re ready to make the Central Coast your home, so you can enjoy these attractions year-round, contact me, your Central Coast real estate agent! I can help make your relocation process a breeze.
