Enjoy First Weekend Of March in SLO County!

SLO County
Upcoming SLO County Events

Happy month of March in SLO County! There’s nothing like the beginning of a new month to get you motivated to head out this weekend and join other locals for some Central California fun. As your Central California real estate agent, allow me to fill you in on some of the events and activities taking place all around SLO County this weekend. Plan accordingly!

1.  California Wine Band Festival is a four-day series of performances in Harman Hall in the Performing Arts Center at Cal Poly. This festival begins today with a performance by the Cal Poly Wine Ensemble, conducted by Andrew McMahon, followed by a combined performance by two groups from Japan. Bands from California, Japan and Washington D.C. will perform during the festival. Friday evening, the U.S. Army Field Band will perform a free concert.

2.  Bring the kids out to SLO Botanical Garden on Saturday, March 5, for Kids’ Book Crafting and Herbal Exploration! They will join local author and artist Beryl Reichenberg from 1 to 3 p.m. First, kids will create their own unique book to take home, using all sorts of crafting materials, and they can even write their own story in the book if they want. Beryl will read a story to them in the garden, and then they will harvest and create using wonderful smelling herbs from the children’s garden.

3.  Saturday, March 5, is the 21st Annual Vines to Wines Winemaker Dinner and Auction Fundraiser at Greengate Ranch and Vineyard! It begins at 6 p.m. The event will honor professor emeritus H. Paul Fountain and will feature winemakers Andrew Jons of Field Recordings Winery and Jeff Ownes of Odette Estate Wines. As a guest, you will enjoy a five-course meal paired with wines, and you can partake in the silent and live auctions.

4.  If you or someone you know is getting married soon in SLO County, plan to attend the Annual Wedding & Special Event Expo this Sunday, March 6, at the Paso Robles Inn Ballroom. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., you can stop by to talk with a large number of exhibitors. These include formal wear boutiques, florists, photographers, caterers, limo services, reception sites and more. Bridal and formal wear will be modeled throughout the event as well. Door prices and gift certificates will be given away.

Aside from these events, there are also numerous farmer’s markets taking place in the area, as well as live music, wine specials and much more. Check out the Visit SLO County website for more options.
