Paso Robles Named Top Spot for Urban Wineries

Paso Robles Wine
Tin City, Paso Robles

When most people think of Paso Robles, they think of rolling green hills and serene vineyards filled with lush grapes and delicious wines. So, it might surprise some people that Paso Robles was named by Wine Enthusiast Magazine as home to one of America’s top urban wineries.

As your Central Coast real estate agent, I’d like to introduce you to an area of Paso Robles that is gaining popularity, and that is Tin City. Just south of downtown resides a warehouse zone that is home to more than a dozen wineries, a brewery, a distillery and soon a cider house.

What makes Tin City so intriguing and inviting is the fact that a visitor can visit so many wineries in one small location. Many Central Coast locals prefer the hillside vineyards overlooking the gorgeous natural views of Paso Robles, but many would also like to taste and experience numerous wineries all at once, without driving around or hiring a tour bus!

This is where Tin City comes into play. When you visit, you can pop into Aaron Wines, Brian Benson Cellars and Levo Wines whenever you want. Others, such as Giornata and Clos Solene, require an appointment, so plan ahead. Although a restaurant is still in the works, Barrelhouse Brewing has different food trucks on-site several days each week and during specials events.

Barrelhouse Brewing began Tin City back in 2012, and the industrial area has been expanding ever since. If you love wine without the frills, this is the place you want to visit. Even if you prefer the vineyards, Tin City is worth visiting, just to see what all the fuss is about. Plus, you can please everyone in your party. With wine, beer, cider and spirits, everyone will leave with satisfied taste buds.

So bring your local friends, or visiting guests, and taste the wine from numerous passionate winemakers all in one location. Sip some beer, cider or spirits while you’re at it. Or, if you prefer, you can visit when Barrelhouse Brewing is hosting a special event, such as a concert or anniversary party.

In future months, Sans Liege will be getting a spot at Tin City, a restaurant will be opening, and Barrelhouse Brewing will expand into a new building for its barrel-aged ales. It’s no surprise that Tin City is getting a spotlight in national wine news.
