Romantic Dining Options in Monterey County

Monterey County Dining
Valentine’s Day in Monterey County

Recently, I shared a blog post about hotels in Central California with Valentine’s Day specials. If you’d rather keep it simple by just dining out that night, you’ve got plenty of romantic options in the area. To help you plan, as your Central California real estate agent, I’ve put together a list of romantic restaurants to dine at in Monterey County!

If you’ve got a budget to stick to, here are some low-cost options for a romantic night:

  • Visit the Beach House at Lover’s Point for a romantic view of the sunset over Monterey Bay. If you go early during the Sunset Special menu before 6 p.m., you can enjoy a variety of entrees for less than $10 and glasses of local wine or beer for less than $4!
  • Enjoy gorgeous views and a delicious dinner at Sardine Factory on Cannery Row. They also have an Early Bird menu with three courses for just $29. The conservatory room has a wonderful, outdoorsy atmosphere, full of greenery and sunshine.
  • For outdoor dining, head to Kula Ranch Island Steakhouse to sit outdoors with the fire pits. Keep it simple by visiting during happy hour from 4 to 6:30 p.m. and enjoy drink specials and appetizers for just $2 each. Afterward, you can take a walk right on the beach!

If a budget is no issue, there are plenty of romantic restaurants in Monterey County for you to splurge at as well:

  • Travel + Leisure named Carmel-by-the-Seat as one of the Best Cities in the World for Romance! Take advantage by visiting Aubergine inside L’Auberge Carmel. You’ll dine inside an intimate dining room lit with candles, the menu is always changing, and Food & Wine magazine awarded them with “Best New Chef” recognition.
  • Go all out by traveling up to Sierra Mar Restaurant at the Post Ranch Inn. This will provide you with breathtaking views of the Big Sur coastline and an intimate dining experience. You might even see some celebrities dining with you!
  • Visit Peppoli at Pebble Beach for authentic Italian fare and great views of The Links at Spanish Bay. They have a great wine and dessert selection, too. It’ll be like you traveled straight to Italy!
