As your Central California real estate agent, I often share about the festivals, events and attractions centered on wine in the SLO County area. However, wine isn’t the only local treasure when it comes to food and drink. We have lots! That is why there is a whole section of specialty tastings listed on the Visit SLO website.

To help you branch out, I’ve included details on some of the specialty tastings available to you in SLO County:

• Bristols Cider House is the place to visit in Atascadero when you’re looking for a delicious, locally sourced beverage that is different from your usual wine or beer. You can stop in anytime to try one of their ciders, along with Lone Madrone wines. Thursday nights, you can enjoy a different variety of curry each week with your pint of cider. Saturdays, enjoy wood-fired pizzas and live music. Sundays, enjoy stew with your cider. They currently have nine ciders to choose from.

• Central Coast Food Tours offer all kinds of tours throughout SLO County, including culinary walking tours, private wine tours, adventure tours and more. Walking tours include Downtown San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles Food & Wine, Sunday Brunch and Wine Walk, and Haunted Hotel Dinner. Wine tours range from the big reds and Rhones of Paso Robles, to the delicate Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays of Edna Valley. Adventure tours include a Sip and Sail Tour, and a Sip and Zip-Line Tour. You have many to choose from!

• Limerock Orchards is a great stop along your Vineyard Drive wine trail! Stop for your choice of several complimentary tasting flights, including their estate walnut oil, walnut better and more, as well as culinary finds, like local vinegar, varietal honey and artisan chocolate. They also serve and sell boutique wines form Brochelle Vineyards and Roxo Port Cellars. Stop for a picnic, enjoy all of the tastings, and enjoy the beautiful views of Paso Robles!

• Pasolivo is another great stop in Paso Robles, which is a family-owned and operated producer of extra-virgin olive oil! They are open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Stop for free tastings of their olive oils, as well as tours of the olive press. Aside from olive oils, Pasolivo also sells bath and body products, salts and spices, vinegars, artisan foods and more. Their olive oils range in flavors, such as basil, citrus, rosemary and tangerine.  It’s a great place to tour when you need a break from wine!
