In my last blog post, I shared the details with you on three of the big, noteworthy wine events coming up in the Central California region. As your Central California real estate agent, I’d like to share information on some of the smaller, more personable events that take place at wineries and vineyards in the Paso Robles wine region. You can always find something to do, and some of the events are free!

Here’s a list of events and activities taking place within the next couple weeks:

• Kick off the weekend this Friday, March 6, in the most relaxing way. Head to J&J Cellars from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. and enjoy pizza as an appetizer with your wine as you unwind by the fire in the outdoor fireplace. Invite your friends, or head there to meet new people from the area around the fire.

• On Saturdays, you can visit Vina Robles Winery for free live music! No reservation is required. This coming Saturday, you can enjoy the sounds of Liv & Rob while savoring Vina Robles wines. Glasses, bottles and tastings are available for purchase. The live music runs from 1 to 4 p.m.!

• On Sunday, March 8, head to Refugio Paso Robles for a No-Knead Pizza Class! You’ll learn how to create a no-knead pizza at home. It is a hands-on class for all skill levels, as instructor Evan Kleiman walks you through the techniques needed to work with this fragile dough. LXV will be pouring wine. Class cost is $125 and it begins at 11 a.m.

• If you love crab, head to Mitchella Vineyard & Winery on Saturday or Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. for their all-you-can-eat crab with salad, bread and a glass of wine. Cost is $50 per person or $40 for wine club members.

• Next Friday, March 13, visit Asuncion Ridge Vineyards for one of their “Occasional Friday” concerts. Local guitar player/singer/songwriter Dan Daniel will return to perform his music from 5 to 8 p.m. The concert is complimentary with a purchase of a glass of wine.

• Vines on the Marycrest Vineyard and Winery hosts their annual spring “In Crowd” Pick Up Party on March 14 at 6 p.m.! You can enjoy dinner, wine and a concert with the legendary Deke Dickerson and The Ecco-fonics. Tickets cost $100 per couple for members and $120 for non-members. Tickets sell out, so it’s a good idea to purchase early.

• On March 15, attend Painting with Pianetta at Pianetta’s Tasting Room from 1 to 3 p.m.! Artist Kathy Coombs will guide you through making your own 16×20 canvas masterpiece. Tickets cost $45 or $40 for club members, which includes a glass of wine and cheese. Additional glasses of wine and small bites will be available for purchase. Go home with a piece of art!
